Calling all parents who love to sing, dance or act!  We need YOU to help with grade level productions this year!  First, we need a volunteer to chair the 2nd Grade Production Committee.  The Nutcracker is one of our most exciting events at Vanderlyn and YOU get to be a part of it!  The Production Chair will work closely with Ms. Taylor to communicate instructions to the parents and secure parent volunteers for the event. Next, we need a helper for our 4th GradeWizard of Oz Production! This person will also work closely with Ms. Taylor on communicating with the parents and securing volunteers for the event.

To chair the 2nd grade Nutcracker committee or the 4th grade Wizard of Oz committee, please contact Katy Moomaw. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to get up close to these events and watch your kids shine!

Mark the date: the Vocabulary Parade will take place on Friday, October 3 at 8:30 a.m.  You can visit author Debra Frasier's website, to view a slideshow with examples of costumes created for vocabulary parades at other schools. Please click here to view a list of vocabulary words for your consideration.  We are looking forward to the big event as we make words come alive with creativity and ingenuity!

Lunch Bunch Volunteers

If you are looking for a great way to volunteer in the school and really get to know the kids in their element
(eating!), then Lunch Bunch is for you!
We are in great need of volunteers to work 45 minute shifts to help
the kids during lunch. This gives our wonderful teachers their much-needed break time during lunch and is
part of the reason why Vanderlyn is a great school for teachers...parent commitment!

Volunteers can sign up at their convenience for whatever fits best with their schedule. Volunteer weekly,
monthly, or even be on our list as a substitute only!
If you are interested, please contact Angela Thayer or
Charlotte Wiseman or sign up for your preferred shifts now on SignUp Genius.

Thanks for helping Vanderlyn and the kids in this important area of service!
